At Legend Roofs, we have a pre-work checklist to help prepare and inform you of your upcoming roofing project.
Getting a new roof installed on your house is a great way to update your home and increase curb appeal. Legend Roofs has outlined what you can expect in the days leading up to, during, and after your roof installation.
Pre-Work Checklist: Before Roof Installation
A few days or a week before installation day, a Legend Roofs representative will go over and have you sign a pre-work checklist. The delivery of shingles will arrive a day before the start of the project, placed in your driveway or a specific location you choose.
- If you have any pets, work with your contractor to see if they need to be locked up during the roof installation.
- Take appropriate measures to protect valuable items in your garden — statues, planters, etc.
- Make sure gates are either left open for contractors or ask that they close gates behind them at all times.
- If there are special requests, let the person in charge know in advance.
- Remove all pictures and valuables from outer walls and shelves — roofing vibrations can cause them to fall.
- Cover all valuables in your attic. When we remove old felt from the decking, debris can fall through cracks. Legend Roofs is not responsible for this debris — if this could be a problem, please talk to your company representative.
- At the end of the job, leftover material will remain. We over-order to make sure we have enough material. This extra material belongs to Legend Roofs and will be picked up within three business days.
- Move all vehicles out of the driveway and away from the house so debris doesn’t fall on them.
- Mow your lawn before the roofing job — shorter grass helps our magnets pick up loose nails more effectively.
Final Day: Finishing Up on the Job
- Your company representative will do a final walk-through with you to make sure everything was done as promised in the pre-work agreement.
- The crew will sweep your yard for loose nails and debris. If you have any concerns, ask your company representative.
- When you are certain the job is completed to your satisfaction, they will do a final settlement and collect the final payment.
- Your warranty information will arrive a week to ten days after final payment. Our office handles all warranties after your new roof installation. Contact us at 405-779-5027 with any questions.
After Your New Roof Has Been Installed
A representative from Legend Roofs may set up a time to visit your home to do a general review and collect the final payment. Prior to signing the contract, make sure you understand the warranty you will be getting and whether the contractor or you will be responsible for registering the warranty.
At Legend Roofs, we handle warranty registration for you through your SSA client portal, where you can access all your roofing documents from any device at any time.
